From college dropout to business owner to 7 figure entrepreneur
MY JOURNEY TIMELINE
Crowned Miss Africa USA, representing all 53 African nations. That moment introduced me to global stages and sparked what would become a lifelong mission, using my voice to open doors for others.
2010
After nearly 20 years of building brands, globally, coaching pro athletes and executives, and creating my own blueprint, I offer once year, an 8 week coaching experience where I share the exact strategies to gain personal and professional success. One on one. No gatekeeping.
2025
A few years into college, I made a decision most people wouldn’t: I dropped out, against my parents’ advice, to pursue a public-facing career and entrepreneurial path. I moved to NYC, gave myself a year to figure it out, and started my first company: Embrace Your Hair
2011
2012
At a time when New York Fashion Week was dominated by Western beauty standards, I pushed EYH, a line of accessories for dry, textured hair, into a space where Black hair had rarely been seen. People told me “no” at every turn. I kept showing up. I reached out to celebrities and editors of biggest beauty magazines Eventually, after being featured in Cosmo, Glamour, InStyle, and worn by celebrities, EYH became one of the first dry hair brands to hit the runway at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week New York. Game Changing.
EYH went global. I landed a distribution deal with The Foschini Group, Africa’s second-largest retailer. What started as a cubicle-sized brand was suddenly available online and in stores across the world, reaching celebs, influencers, and everyday women alike. I was featured in Forbes for “inclusive innovation,” reshaping how we talked about beauty.
2014
Launched Bubbles & Bridges, a response to what I saw as the start of a more divided world. As a DEI Futurist, before the term had gone mainstream, I built a consulting firm designed to get people out of their social bubbles and working across lines of difference. We’ve since worked with Fortune 500 execs, government teams, healthcare systems, and universities on three continents, solving the everyday people challenges that come with an increasingly global and diverse world.
2017
I went from college dropout to Harvard graduate, earning my degree and being nominated as commencement speaker. (You can watch the speech here It was a full-circle moment, and a reminder that reinvention is always possible.
2016
2018
After a string of traumatic events, extreme fatigue, and a fibroid diagnosis that led to surgery, I needed a lifeline. Four months after getting out of the hospital, I released “Finally There” a song I wrote, produced, and co-directed. It was part therapy, part reminder to myself that even on your worst days, you’re still becoming who you’re meant to be.
In the middle of running my business, I took on a new challenge: joining a major healthcare network as an executive during the pandemic. It was the first time I had a boss in years, and that shift taught me how to navigate corporate culture without losing your identity. I now fold that experience into my reinvention course
2021
After putting in a ton of practice, building two 7 figure brands, a c-suite corporate role, I decided to go back to theory and learn (more) about finance, valuations, private equity, organizational transformation in…the middle of Europe. That’s how I earned an MBA from the top business school in Switzerland.
